Field Trip Groups

Each year, thousands of children from the Metro Detroit area visit our farm with their schools, homeschool groups, "Moms of Preschoolers" groups, and more. Field trips at Real Life farm are full of adventure and new experiences for kids of all ages.

Farm field trips may be scheduled for the months of October, April, May and the first few weeks of June.

For reservations please email Farmer Aaron at

A $20.00 deposit is required to hold your reservation.

Field trips begin at 10:00am and are through by 2:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Both car and bus parking are available.

A Real Life Farm Field Trip includes:

  1. A tractor-drawn 30 minute hayride.

  2. A horseback ride for the children inside of the corral. Adults will be asked to help lead the horses around the corral.

  3. An animal show with Farmer Aaron inside the barn. Hands-on activites include: Bottle feeding, and hand feeding the animals, milking the cow or goat, holding and petting the baby animals, and butter-making!

There are lots of chores to be done at the farm!

An outdoor or sheltered picnic area is provided for bag lunches, or you may eat in our heated, three-story Big Red Barn.

In Case of Rain:

School visits continue in most conditions. In case of rain, horseback riding will be moved to a sheltered area, and the hay wagons will be covered to keep our guests comfortable. Lunches can be eaten inside the Big Red Barn.
